Our Team

Matt Foster is a highly skilled yet down-to-earth attorney who has won difficult cases for hundreds of clients. Matt’s deep and varied experience, along with his common sense, integrity, and ability, make him a formidable advocate for his clients.
Matt was born and raised in Coweta, Oklahoma, a small town where people knew and cared about their neighbors. His dad was the high-school principal and his mom worked at the local Wal-Mart. In Coweta, Matt gained small-town sensibilities and a sense of community that have stayed with him and influence the way he practices law.
Matt earned a finance degree with honors from Northeastern State University, an Oklahoma state college close to his hometown. After that, Matt spent two years as an associate pastor in his home church before attending law school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Matt graduated with honors at Vanderbilt, where he earned Order of the Coif (top 10% of his class), served as Managing Editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review, and won his way onto the Vanderbilt Moot Court board.
Following law school, Matt spent two years clerking in Indianapolis for U.S. District Judge Larry McKinney, whose wisdom and humor made a lifelong positive impression. After his clerkship, Matt worked as a business litigator at premier firms in Texas and Indianapolis, then ran litigation for an Indianapolis firm representing healthcare clients in business formation, litigation, administrative and licensing proceedings, and assorted other matters and disputes.
More recently, Matt was Indiana’s chief regulator for nursing homes, hospitals, and some two dozen other types of healthcare providers. Just before returning to private practice, Matt served as CEO of a psychiatric hospital, which enhanced his ability to understand business, healthcare, and regulatory challenges directly from the client’s perspective.
Matt’s rare and deep experience as an attorney uniquely equips him to provide top-flight counsel and advocacy for businesses and individuals.
