Judith K. Brown is Of Counsel with Clapp Ferruci. Ms. Brown is a business lawyer with an emphasis on contracts, banking and finance, commercial loan documentation and real estate.

Prior to joining Clapp Ferrucci, Ms. Brown was Vice President and Legal Counsel with Pedcor Properties, a real estate development firm and bank holding company located in Carmel, Indiana. While at Pedcor, she supported the banking subsidiaries on regulatory, finance, letter of credit and contract matters. She also worked on real estate purchases, sales, exchanges and financing transactions as well as served on the employee benefits committee.

Ms. Brown previously served Of Counsel with the firm of Barnes & Thornburg, LLP in Indianapolis, Indiana. While at the firm, her practice focused on bank regulatory compliance including the overlap of banking and insurance laws, commercial loan transactions, loan sales and secondary market transactions, a wide range of contract drafting and negotiation, supervision of outside counsel and litigation for a corporate client and business bankruptcy matters.

Prior to the above positions, Ms. Brown was First Vice President and Legal Counsel with Bank One and predecessor banks. Over the course of her tenure, she represented and supported all retail and commercial lines of business and levels of management. She negotiated and documented large commercial and real estate loans and addressed related regulatory matters, including environmental compliance. She supported bank regulatory compliance, business development, contracts, marketing, conflict resolution, employment matters, supervision of outside counsel, and day to day operations of activities such as lending (mortgage, auto, education, credit cards, leases and sub-prime) deposits, branching, funding, investments, brokerage, insurance and cash management. She also acted as assistant corporate secretary and worked with corporate governance. Her work on behalf of Bank One's education finance line of business included the review of roughly 400 contracts per year (including origination, servicing, secondary market loan sales and technology), supporting the development of the private student loan product and the outsourcing all marketing and administrative functions. She represented the Bank in the sale of its sub-prime mortgage lending subsidiary, the related loan portfolios, branches and transfer of employees. Ms. Brown served as co-chair of the Bank's task force against predatory lending practices.

Ms. Brown graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Ball State, she served as President of Delta Zeta Sorority, President of Mortar Board and as a member of the Student Coordinating Board and Cardinal Corps. She was named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. She graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis with a Juris Doctor degree and participated in the Bank Internship program.

Ms. Brown is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and Indianapolis Bar Association. She served as Chair of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association. She was previously on the Board of the Community Development Law Center.

Outside of the firm, Ms. Brown has served in numerous capacities with Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Fishers, Indiana, including treasurer, coordinator of the Friday Morning Bible Study and coordinator of a teen mission trip to Mexico. She currently heads the church's Adopt A Dorm volunteer program at Lutheran Child and Family Services. She lives with her husband in Fishers. Her daughter is finishing her masters in architecture at Ball State and her son is studying business at Ball State.
